Title: Miner core dumps on Linux 64 bit
Post by: kula2 on Jun 08, 2020, 08:19 PM
I downloaded cli zip for linux.  attempted to run "miner" and got:

"Illegal Instruction (core dumped).

Linux hserv 4.18.0-25-generic #26-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jun 24 09:32:08 UTC 2019 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

The above is old Ubuntu.  Same result is on current Manjaro.

"Illegal instruction" suggests your processor is too old... Pre-built Linux binaries had all features enabled, so AVX/AVX2 was required. The latest Linux binaries have both SSE4 and AVX/AVX2 optimizations disabled, so should also work with older processors.
